Guest Speaker
I thought todays guest speaker did an excellent job. I feel that being able to ask questions and have them answered by someone who was directly involved in cases that relate to our class was not only interesting but valuable in our learning. I agree with her thoughts on Polanski, and would enjoy hearing from more guest speakers or even hearing from her again.

I completely agree. Speakers who bring in their experience from the field are very beneficial in connecting class material to real world situations. It presents a perspective about how all of the definitions and concepts we read about in the text are applied outside of classroom scenarios. Discussions and activities surrounding current events, such as the Polanski case, are also helpful in learning and understanding the fundamentals of our judicial system. Continuation of this type of class agenda, I believe, is a very engaging approach to the class structure.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the both of you. It not only made class and the material very interesting, but I took a lot of understanding away from it. It definitely encourages people to ask questions and think about the concepts in a different way allowing them to reach new insights into the material we read about in the chapter. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIndeed. She made the material real. The entire class had significant questions. I only cannot fathom what it would take to be able to deal with the sort of cases that she did for three years.
