12 Angry Men

Samantha Ram, Andrew Daou, Kelsi Myers, Amy Bogart, Lauren Rose, Karolina Bulaj, Amro Ibrahim, Oliver Gordon, Michael Weston

After much deliberation, our jury concluded that the defendant is not guilty. The initial vote, however, was 5 not guilty to 4 guilty. We discussed all of the circumstantial evidence, including, the knife coincidence, the two witnesses, the criminal record, and the motive. Although there seems to be a lot of circumstantial evidence leading to the idea of guilty, the group concluded that there was also a significant amount of reasonable doubt. Not only were the two eyewitnesses inconclusive in their testimonies but the defendant's lawyer also seemed to be incompetent in his cross-examinations. In conclusion, our group decided that there was too much doubt to convict the boy.
